We have been asked to make residents aware that a small number of cases of the South African COVID-19 variant have been detected in parts of Woking (Woking Borough) and Egham (Runnymede Borough).
Testing of every household within a specific geographical area will now start in these areas. This includes test kits being posted through every door and volunteers turning up to collect them.
Testing in Woking will start 1st February, and in Egham a few days later.
Residents are asked to continue to follow the rules regarding Coronavirus and to continue to adopt the same level of precautions (hands, face, space) that they currently do. The situation will be kept under review.
